Hi and welcome to Your Narrative Coaching!

 

I’m Denise Barnes — mother of two, former teacher, and self-confessed psychology geek.

​

After 25 years in education, I know what it means to keep going no matter what — the deadlines, the data, the endless to-do lists. Like many in our profession, I’ve spent years pushing forward. But coaching taught me something vital: you don’t have to do it all on your own.

 

My own coaching journey was a turning point. It showed me how powerful it is to pause, reflect and actually hear your own story — not just the version that’s expected of you.

That’s why I trained as a coach and went on to complete a Master’s in Positive Psychology and Coaching Psychology. I wanted to bring together real, evidence-based tools with a deep understanding of the challenges leaders face in schools and childcare settings.

Through Your Narrative Coaching, I help leaders beat burnout, build resilience and reconnect with the reason they started. We acknowledge the hard stuff — and then we move forward with clarity, confidence, and compassion.
